What Are The Exhibition Space Must-Haves for 2022?

Exhibitions and trade shows are back on the agenda again after two years of cancellations and disappointments. They are an excellent way to promote your business, make new contacts, and generate sales. If you are dipping your toe into the exhibition waters for the first time this year, or just want a refresher, here’s a guide to getting ready for an event.

Hygiene and health measures

While we hope the most serious wave of the pandemic has now passed, many people are now more vigilant about cleanliness and safety when mixing in larger crowds. Therefore, it’s important to make your exhibition space user-friendly and approachable. Install a hand sanitiser station so that people can be assured that you take hygiene seriously.

A sanitiser unit can either be attached to the side of your stand, or installed as a standalone feature. If you want to take extra precautions, you could also have glove and mask dispensers. Unobtrusive screen dividers can also add an extra layer or protection and reassurance, both for your visitors and your staff.

Branded roller banners

Roller banners, which are vertical displays in a stand-alone frame, are a very easy and affordable way to increase your brand visibility. They can be printed with details of the specific products and services that you offer, or just be used to let visitors know who you are and what can do for them.

Information points

An information point, or welcome counter, is a great way to attract visitors to your stand. It provides a focal point, where people can go to chat to a friendly face, or pick up leaflets or other promotional items you may offer. You can then lead your visitors to the most relevant products, promotions, or information for them.

Sustainability

In 2022, many brands, businesses, and indeed exhibition venues, are keen to promote eco-friendly values. You can communicate this through your approach to your exhibition space. For example, using energy saving LED light bulbs will use up to 80% less power, making them both a greener and a cheaper choice.

Consider hiring a modular exhibition stand, rather than buying new kit. Look for products that have been made from recycled or responsibly sourced materials, and can be reused rather than disposed of at the end of the event.

If you want to give away promotional freebies, avoid the usual plastic pens and keyrings, which are non-biodegradable. If you have the budget for it, branded reusable coffee cups and water bottles make for great giveaways, because they are genuinely useful, and visible, hopefully people will carry them far and wide rather than leaving them to rot in their bags!

Where possible, take a customers’ email address or another form of digital contact detail, rather than handing out and taking paper leaflets and business cards. This not only demonstrates your sustainable approach, but makes it easier for you to keep track of contacts, as well as costing you less money in printed materials.
